The Soul of THE CALCUTTA BITES

Resurrecting forgotten Zamindari recipes, royal Nawab kitchen secrets, and nostalgia-filled street side telebhaja from the historic lanes of North Kolkata & Park Street.

Traditional Bengali Kitchen Cooking

"Bengali cuisine is defined by subtle balances: the bitterness of Shukto, the pungency of mustard, and the sweetness of Nolen Gur."

Our Culinary Philosophy

Where Heritage Meets Artisanal Perfection

Founded in 2018 in Kolkata, THE CALCUTTA BITES was born out of a desire to preserve authentic Bengali flavors in an era of quick-fix commercialized dining.

We believe in zero artificial shortcuts: no pre-packaged pastes, no synthetic food colors, and no MSG. Every batch of mustard is ground fresh daily on traditional stone sil-batta, and our ghee is sourced from small dairy farmers in Nadia and Hooghly.
